My biggest takeaway from the Award Semifinalist lists is the astounding presence of South Carolina in them. It seems like there is a Gamecock on each list. The craziest part is that each of the four starters on South Carolina's defensive line is a semifinalist for the Lombardi. That's insane.

Tennessee rebounds off of their disappointing loss last week to beat Auburn this week, 31-24. Although Auburn dominated the stats, I really never felt like I was going to lose this game. I was always ahead in the second half with Auburn just tying things up at best. It also seemed like the game was conspiring against me, because my two fumbles were ridiculous. One was a slant I threw to Justin Hunter and he was going to be clear to the end zone but an arm tackle from the CB he had just beaten knocked the ball out--pretty unrealistic. The other was my drop-and-fumble-prone TE, but the hit was again from a CB. Oh well, I still won.
At this point, The Vols are just hoping that the teams ahead in the rankings fall so we can have a spot in a BCS bowl or the national championship game. I'll likely be a beneficiary of being second in my division and not having to play in the SEC championship game. Can the Vols be this year's Bama!?

Looking at the box score you scored on a Kick off return with no time left to avoid overtime and your only other score in the 2nd half was a 75yd fumble return for a TD. Also you must have had another huge play to end the half as Aub scored with only a few seconds left in the half and you scored right back. Not saying you didn't get any bad breaks, but you must have the same nerves as Joe Montana if you are saying you weren't nervous during this game.

Haha, I think I was more annoyed with how Auburn was coming back to score and tie the game. My fumble recovery was because I jumped the pitch when Auburn was running a predictable option. But yeah, I was mostly annoyed at how I felt the game was trying to make it closer than it really was lol.

Mississippi State - 3 #10 Texas A&M - 16
If Beef thought he had bad breaks in his game against Auburn, here are the ones that happened to me in my win against Mississippi State:
-My quarterback -- who has been accurate all season -- overthrows three wide open receivers in the first half. The first two would have been touchdowns, and the third one led to an interception inside MSU's 20-yard line
-In MSU territory, my best wide receiver is hit by a cornerback on a routine slant pattern and fumbles the ball away.
-On the next possession, the same receiver -- who also doubles as my returner -- muffs a punt. This is fine because it happens from time to time. What happened next does not. There is no MSU player within 10 yards of the ball, while I have four players right next to it. So what happens? ALL FOUR of my players whiff while trying to recover it while the lone MSU player scoops it up.
-Mississippi State had two receptions where my cornerback or safety knocked away the pass, but another receiver in the vicinity grabbed it for the catch.
Thankfully, my defense was an absolute terror today against Mississippi State's read-option offense. I racked up multiple TFLs and shut down their running game. If it hadn't been for that, who knows how this game would have turned out.
I can't complain too much though. My four prior wins had a combined margin of victory of 15 points, and I won by 13 today. At least this one was never in doubt.

No. 5 Oklahoma lost to Iowa State, and No. 6 Oregon faces off against No. 7 USC. Therefore, you should jump a few spots.

You don't seem too excited about a kick off return with no time left and a miracle 25 second drive to end the half. Any details was he clear from the 50yd line in or was their some tension coming to the goal and were you eyeballing the clock to maybe step out so you could kick the FG?
Was it a long KO return to end the half or was it a pass play?
This had to rank as your #1 game of all time and you seem annoyed by the whole thing.
At any rate looks like I am going to have to work on my kick coverage for next week. Haha

Haha Lol, OK yeah it was a great play to end the game, but you have to understand that until that play happened, I was pissed at the game for hoe the 4th quarter went down with my ridiculous fumbles and stuff. And really, it seemed like Auburn kicked away from its coverage, so my returner only had to juke one guy--the rest were blocked. I did run across the end zone Justin Blackmon style to run out the clock, too. As for closing out the second half, it was both a pretty good return and a huge pass play and run after the catch. I hit Justin Hunter on a fade and he would have scored if I didn't stop him before the goal line. Risky, I know, but I was pissed at Auburn and confident I would eventually get the TD.
