ANNOUNCEMENTAs it has been well-documented, the EA servers have been screwy, especially in regards to exiting the recruiting menu. Since we are planning on advancing through these errors rather than restarting, I want to make a few points and highlight Deadrabbits' quoted post below: (1) If possible, I would avoid recruiting on the EA online website. Although it has the benefit of uploading each call separately, the functionality of the website has been spotty as of late, and there is no way to recover a lost phone call. (2) In Deadrabbits' post below, focus on "Solution #2." From an online forum. Might help some fix some things that are going on right now until EA fixes it, if you guys run into problems. (I think these are for games not uploading upon completion, might work with recruiting. Their posts didn't really specify). Solution #1: "Turn your game on like normal. Go into file management and delete your tuner. Then turn your system off for about 5-10 minutes. Then turn your system on and start your game like normal. Download the patch when it tells you to. It has worked for my guys" Solution #2:"I got it and hit re-try about 5 times and it didn't work. Then I hit the PS button and logged out of the PSN, then signed back in and once I signed in to the EA servers again, it uploaded just fine. Don't know if or why that really is a solution, but it worked for me this one time".www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football/587765-error-running-upload-game-process-4.htmlI just experienced this error when trying to exit the recruiting menu on PSN. I was informed that there was an uploading error, and I could either "Retry Now" or "Quit the Dynasty". DO NOT select "Quit the Dynasty." Otherwise, you'll lose all of your recruiting and scouting time. If the "Retry Now" option continues to bring up the error message, then click the PS button on your controller and sign out of your account. While you'll lose your connection to the EA servers, you will not be kicked out of the dynasty on PSN. Then, sign in to PSN once again. Once you have connected to EA servers, select the "Retry Now" option. It should finally upload your recruiting without losing any time. I just experienced this problem in "Preseason," and it worked perfectly.

ANNOUNCEMENT
If anyone here lives on the East Coast and is dealing with Sandy, stay safe! From the pictures, videos, and news I have seen, it looks nasty over there. Hopefully, the worst of it will be over soon.

ANNOUNCMENT
In our fourth season, users have had time to stockpile and groom much better talent than they inherited on Day 1. Because of this, users are scoring more on the CPU. However, there have been too many instances of users recording 60-plus points in routs, while adding multiple touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Thus, there appears to be circumstantial evidence of running up the score and stat-padding against the CPU. I have posted in the past that this dynasty stresses realistic scores and statistics, but we have been trending away from that this season. I have seen quarterbacks combine for 13-16 total touchdowns in consecutive weeks. This is not realistic in any way, shape, or form. It needs to stop.
Because I cannot monitor CPU games, and it is too difficult to infer this frowned-upon style of play from the box score, I'm instituting the following rule:
Unless there are reasonable circumstances, such as holding a narrow lead in the fourth quarter, if a user scores more than 63 points against the CPU, the user will be issued a warning. If a user has to be issued three warnings total, they will removed from the dynasty. Any previous warning(s) that a user has received in the past are still intact.
Unless it's a reasonably close game, once a user begins pushing up against the 63-point threshold, it's time to put in the backups and start running out the clock. No one in this league is Bret Bielema, and it's in the best interest of the league to set a firm line.
(Remember, this rule applies to games where a user is winning by 40+ points. If a user is in a 59-42 game, a touchdown in the final minutes may be reasonable. But never has a CPU opponent racked up 63 points, so there really should be no need to score more than that.)
This is a simple rule, and it will allow for more realistic scores and stats.

So after the back-ups are in and you're running the clock out, what happens when your RB breaks one? are you suppose to run out at the 1 yard line? then take a knee 4 times and turn it over? I agree the scoring is getting out of hand, I'm probably the worst offender although UCLA is catching me. Some games everything is working and no matter what you do you're gonna score points. What happens if you have a QB or RB in the heisman race? do you bench him and risk losing the heisman? What about play style? Just some questions some of us I'm sure would like knowledge of.

(1) Don't wait until you have scored 63 points to insert your backups. If you have a 40-point lead in the third quarter or a 30-point lead in the fourth quarter, insert your backups, use the entire play clock, and run on every down. It will provide you a cushion in case your backup running back does break one for a touchdown. If you find yourself in a position where you may break the 63-point threshold, then I would dive or run out of bounds. If it means that you need to take a knee four times, then do it. Don't break the barrier, unless you have a three-possession-or-less lead in the fourth quarter. I tried to set reasonable guidelines in the past without instituting a firm threshold, but they were not adhered to. Thus, I've resorted to this tactic. (2) Whether or not you have a player in the Heisman race does not matter. If you have a 40-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, bench him even if he hasn't scored as many touchdowns as you may like and may cost him the Heisman. This is a sim-style league. That will not be compromised because a user feels they need to stat-pad to win the Heisman. No more. Starting quarterbacks should not be combining for 500 total yards and seven-plus touchdowns on a weekly basis. Starting quarterbacks should not be throwing touchdown passes in the fourth quarter of blowouts, let alone 50-plus-yard touchdown passes. Receivers should not be averaging 45 yards per completion and scoring four-plus touchdowns each game. Starting running backs should not be getting 40-plus carries in routs. Players will have big games, but it shouldn't be a weekly occurrence. It stops now. (3) Play style is taken into account, but it should not be an obstacle to abiding the above conditions. If anyone truly feels that the above conditions are going to be difficult to follow, then that user is most likely not playing sim-style against the CPU and not a good fit for this league. It's simple. Don't run up the score. Don't stat-pad.

Hez I don't think I've ever scored 50pts ever so these rules have no interest to me, so this is just a generic question out of curiosity and not a complaint. What is the story with the 63 pt threshold? What is the point of limiting back ups scoring? I understand trying to limit guys scoring to not have skewed stats for the trophies, but why does anyone care if they blow out the computer 84-10 or 63-10 if they are using back ups?

In response to Ozi, my 77-0 game against NC st. Was 56-0 when I lost connection. Quinn finished against my CPU and they put up 21.

I understand trying to limit guys scoring to not have skewed stats for the trophies, but why does anyone care if they blow out the computer 84-10 or 63-10 if they are using back ups? (1) Users were playing their starters the whole game even when leading by 50-plus points. (2) This is a sim-style league. This applies in games against users and the CPU. Scores and statistics need to be realistic. I tried to apply a standard where users would not run up the score or pad stats against the CPU without instituting a firm threshold, but it continued to be abused. Thus, I've been forced to institute a firm limit.

Guys it's been fun. Even losing all the time. I just don't have the time to keep up. So, I need to retire. Not sure if there's anything you need me to do. I assume I just need to leave the dynasty.
Go Blue!
