Post by beef1857 on Oct 30, 2012 13:14:57 GMT -5
Tennessee 31 - 20 Notre Dame.
Stats
Nate Peterman: 13/18, 162 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT
Johnnie Wright: 25 rushes for 190 yards, 4 TDs.
Jason Croom, 5 catches for 72 yards
Recap:
PRobably the biggest difference in this game was 3rd down conversions. ND was only 2/8 converting on third down, while Tennessee was 7/9. Because Tennessee could convert on so many 3rd downs, we ended up holding the ball for roughly 20 minutes out of the game's 28 minutes. This offense is probably my worst offense that I've had, but with Peterman being only a junior (hopefully he'll come back) there is hope for the future.
Also Davante Bourque looked good on his initial carries before being knocked out of the game. It's good to know that backup RB Johnnie Wright can play, too.

Tennessee 31 - 20 Notre Dame. Starting RB got knocked out of the game but the backups did very well. Pretty good performance on the road against a good CPU team. Switched to a different D and I like it so far. Are you going to tell us or do I have to wait until the SEC Championship game to find out what your new defense is?

South Carolina 31 @maryland 15
Had a great 1st quarter...had momentum and belief that I had a shot at the upset. Then it went all downhill. Had some turnovers and South Carolina got back in the lead and ran with it. My offense has really struggled against Ozi the past few seasons. Just too many turnovers for my defense to overcome. gg ozi.
Just keep cutting down the talent gap and try again next season lol. Only two players on my team would start for his team this season.

#7 Texas A&M - 38 #15 Utah - 10
A tight battle in the first half that saw the Aggies take four-point lead into the break, despite being outplayed by Utah, turned into a rout in the second half when the Aggies defense turned dominant.
Utah got off to a quick start, taking the second play from scrimmage 66 yards to the house when a linebacker blitz missed the running back in the backfield, leaving the Utes' speedster to race for a touchdown untouched.
After forcing a three-and-out, Utah was poised to strike again, driving into TAMU territory. Facing a 4th and short from the TAMU 35-yard line, the Utes elected to try a 52-yard field goal. The try fell short at the back of the end zone, where my starting running back grabbed it and sped down the sidelines 109 yards for a touchdown.
The 10-point swing was a big blow to Utah's momentum, but they held strong, tacking on a field goal on the ensuing drive to regain the lead. At this point, with 4:25 left in the second quarter, the Aggies had only run three plays. Three. However, Texas A&M finally found the play they needed with 47 seconds left in the first half as All-American tight end Connor Washington's seam route perfectly exploited a bust in the Utes' coverage for a 59-yard touchdown.
While only a four-point game at halftime, the lead-changing touchdown inspired the defense in the second half. After Utah's 66-yard touchdown on the first drive, the Utes managed only 155 total yards and committed five turnovers. The turnovers dug too deep a hole for Utah. TAMU exploited the short-field opportunities with a few key read-option runs that allowed quarterback Johnny Manziel to scamper into the end zone.
Facing a substantial deficit late in the third quarter, the Utes were forced to the air, but the Aggies back seven were exceptional in coverage when they knew the pass was coming. Texas A&M were able to control the clock in the fourth quarter to earn a 38-10 victory.
Great game, Bjams. I was fortunate to have a lead after the first half, and the turnovers were killers for you in the second half. You have a very good squad, and if you keep the turnovers down, I expect you to do some damage in the Pac-12.
Texas A&M
QB J. Manziel: 8-12, 145 yards, 2 TDs, 12 rushes, 61 yards, 2 TDs RB T. Williams: 16 rushes, 99 yards, 1 reception, 33 yards TE C. Washington: 5 receptions, 89 yards, 2 TDs
Utah
QB C. Hansen: 8-18, 67 yards, 3 INTs RB J. Freeman: 16 rushes, 127 yards, TD, 1 reception, 7 yards TE P. Roberts: 2 receptions, 22 yards

Great game man...that 109 FG return for a TD had me wanting to throw my controller at the TV and the long TD to the TE was my fault as I moved my SS to a buzz zone and got beat bad. If those two plays don't happen, momentum would have been much different in the 2nd half. Oh well....maybe next time.

Actually, he's poking fun at the fact that Maryland always has a higher ranking than Missouri, even when the Tigers have a better record and have beaten the Terps. But don't worry, we're coming for you, Ozi. Although, it's going to require a beautifully called game because you have significant talent advantage over the rest of us. Damn you and your 26 seniors.
