Ziff,
I actually like your idea of merging into two leagues. It would also be in the spirit of the latest conference realignment. At this point, I don't see why we couldn't just become one league even.

My ALL SEC beef is with the Oline. Somehow South Carolina has 5 1st team All_Sec Olineman and 1 2nd team All SEC lineman. 6 Olineman? I think that is a feat that will never be touched....my beef is that I had the #1 rushing offense in the country and didn't get 1 guy on the fucking list??
EA conspiracy continues.....

2016 Preview-
Returning starters and player development is the best indicator of team success. I don't have access to what schemes you run so guesstimated as well as I could. Here is the Blue Ribbon Preview for 2016. The key for each team is +1 SU- While the team lost a starter they actually upgraded due to the fact the backup was so close in ability. 0 P- Replacement is virtually the same -1 SD- Replacement is close but not the same -2 FD- You lost a stud and you don't have an adequate replacement yet. -3 MD- WTF?!?! Who is our recruiting coordinator and why don't we have a backup?
We'll take our returning starters and add the +1 of each replacement to get a baseline number we'll use to see who will regress or improve in 2016. When the actual records come in we can see who can really coach. Keep in mind these gades are relative to your talent level. When I say Ozi has a massive downgrade(MD) in talent his replacement may still start for Mizzou but for SC it's a big drop. True Freshmen were not analyzed. If your planning on a true frosh to start at this point it is not good. Here We go. The positions listed are starters lost. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cal- 16 returning starters to a 12-0 team is a good start. 2 WR- P, T-SU, DE-P, OLB-P, CB-SD...yikes +1 and a -1 for a net 0 and a 16 score.
Undefeated and no real downgrades mean a lot of upgrades and a lot of trouble fro the Pac 12.May need to look at picking on the back up corners as some hope --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maryland- 11 Returning Starters for the ACC Champs is a little scary let's see how it looks.
WR-SD, T-SD, G-P, C-FD, 2 DE-SD, 2 OLB-FD, MLB-FD, FS-FD, SS-P......Well ACC time to step up because Maryland looks vulnerable. The offense looks fine even losing Stefon Diggs, but the defense will be breaking in new starters that can't hold the jock of their predecessors. 11 starters and a -11 in downgrades give Maryland a net 0 score. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mizzou- 19 starters to the SEC West Champs
T-SD, C-SD, CB-FD
Mizzou looks good to go next year. I fudged a little because I'm filling a massive hole at WR but he only played 2 games this year so DGB really wasn't part of the team. The CB spot will be shaky. We'll see if we can mix and match with sub packages to mask the youth. 19 starters and -4 downgrades puts Mizzou at a net 15. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NCS- The ACC bottom dwellars return 14 starters to a 2 win team. 2 WR-SD, T-SD, DT-SD, 2OLB-MD, CB-SD, SS-FD
Lack of recruiting has put some serious holes in the roster....14 returners but a -9 in downgrades puts NCS at a net of 5. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pitt- A season highs and lows could not get over fast enough as they want to see their frosh studs progress. 17 Starters come back for this ACC Division Champ.
C-P, DE-SU, DT-P*, MLB-MD, CB-FD
The offense should be scary, but the defense has some massive drop offs in talent. *They only have 1 DT worth a dam on the roster so thay can't even present a decent 4 man line or have much hope in short yardage. 17-4 puts Pitt at a Net 13. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- South Carolina- The 3 Time Champs wave goodbye to the greatest Senior Class in School History and maybe ever. Only 6 returning starters remain...maybe. If a few go pro they may be down to 4. RB-P, 3WR-MD, TE-FD, T-P, 2G-FD, C-FD, 2DE-FD, 2DT-FD, 2OLB-MD, CB-SD.
Start at 6 and -17 in downgrades and you get a grim picture but keep in mind the staggering talent amassed in the front 7 of this defense. A net -11 for the Gamecoks will put pressure on the coaching staff to get the best from the young 5 star studs coming up.
Part 2 and predictions coming later.............................................................

Also, did we ever get more talk about moving to two conferences? We could all obviously keep the same teams and just make custom conferences.

Tenn- A hard year for the Vols as they lost most of their big matchups and rolled to a disappointing finish for one of the countries premier programs. Tenn returns 15 starters next year.
2WR-SD, T-SD, G-SD, C-SD, DE-SD, CB-SD
Tenn has recruited good depth as there are no big drop offs but I expected to see better in the wings as all the replacing players did not have a stud waiting to excel. 15-6 for a score of 9. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aggies- This team was NC or bust so when they lost a heartbreker to Mizzou the year was considered a failure despite the many records broken and big wins posted. They return 14 to this 1 loss juggernaut.
QB-SD, HB-FD, WR-P, T-SU, DE-SU, DT-SU, 2OLB SD
You see the recruiting success paying off here as A&M gets several of the rare upgrade after a player departs. 14 with only a -1 for a net of 13. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UCLA- The PAC 12 Division Champs are stuck at the ceiling. They have the talent but can't breakthru on the national stage. 14 returning starters to this A+ lineup.
QB-SU, HB-P, WR-SU, T-P, G-FD, C-SU, 2DT-MD
What a strange mix....plenty of talent to fill in but 2 massive holes stand out. No Guard on the roster worth a dam to fill in will warrant a true freshmen starting or a position change. The best DT combo in UCLA history is just tough to fill the young guys will need some time. 14-2 is a net 12. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Utah- Another team stuck 1 below the elite teams. Had 1 of the hardest jobs to try and get talent and is doing a great job slowly building up this program. Utah returns 14.
T-SD, C-FD, DE-P, DT-SD, 2 OLB-FD, CB-SD, FS-FD
Utah is slowly building but it takes time when you can't just plug in 5 stars. 14-9 give Utah only a net 5. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Washington- A great year for Wazzou only to be derailed by Cal. Wash returns 12 but a bad transition year in recruiting 2 years ago could spell trouble.
HB-SD, WR-SD, T-SD, G-MD, DT-FD, 2OLB-FD, CB-SD, FS-MD
Lines are so important so to have a MD and a FD is not good. The G situation is dire as true freshmen will play. Losing 5 real good players on d will hurt. This will be a season to see if the staff can shine and piece together a good year. It's all on the QB Miles. 12-14 gives us a -2 net score.
