#2 GameCocks- 45 Miss. St - 17
Def felt the rust for the first game of the year! Connor Shaw was 4/6 48 before getting knocked out for 3 weeks!!!! True Frosh Ryan Smith stepped in and struggled a bit going 10/23 189 yards 3 TD's, also rushing 17 times for 100 yards and 1 score. Bright side to smith is he didn't turn the ball over. Heisman contender Marcus Lattimore carried the rock 22 times for 166 yards and 3 TD's.
Side note: Lattimore is a 98 break tackle, 97 trucking and yet he breaks no tackles, Miss St. QB broke 3 tackles alone. Can this be looked at?

Post by deadrabbits23 on Aug 23, 2012 18:46:07 GMT -5
Maryland 27 @ Michigan State 24
Night game with tons of rain. Got 17-14 lead at the half with a deep pass to WR Stefon Diggs. Made a big goaline stand at the start of the 4th quarter to keep the lead. Was able to sustain a long drive and scored at TD at goaline. MSU scored late and I recovered the onside kick. Was able to run the clock out on the ground. Needed to get a first downto seal the victory, and I did.
I have switched to a 4-3 defense this season because it fits my personnel better. Last season I ran Multiple D(Mostly ran a 3-4).
Stats
QB CJ Brown 14/20 205 1 TD 1 INT RB J. Pickett 22 car 147 yds / 3 rec 31 yds WR Diggs 3 rec 52 yds 1 TD
