2 More
My stud CB from Alabama is wavering back to Auburn so I may lose a part of my stellar DB class, but I did shore up more of my defense.
4* SS Kurt Pitts #4 SS and # 113 Overall --77(+1)--Marshall, Tx 78% Scouted 4* OLB Tim Johnson #18 OLB and # 294 Overall--75(+3) Joplin, Mo 58% Scouted
If you are scoring at home I got the #3 and #4 SS in this class and I am done recruiting safeties for this year and next as I promised them I wouldn't. Tim was a local kid who was trending up so I stopped scouting him. I couldn't imagine him dropping far enough in the last half of his scouting to warrant dropping him. Mizzou has shored up the back 7 with elite talent like I was hoping . There will be some position battles next fall and Mizzou just announced they are firing their DC so we will be playing with some new schemes to see how they can fit all this talent on the field.

Elite back 7-->probably a 4-2-5 or 3-3-5, right?

Yeah I have not had too much success with the 4-2-5 online but it seems like it should work and I will be trying it a lot to see if I can make it work. I really like how the defenses set up but I seem to get gashed. You really need to stop the run in this league so we'll see how it goes.
I know last year it was frowned upon to run a 3-3-5 as a base defense is that still the case?
I don't like the multiple defensive options this year so it will be a feeling out process now that I have some time to tinker with it.

Even though I missed out on 2 4* prospects to conference rivals in UCLA and Washington , I still pulled in several more recruits. Highlighted by 4* DT Aaron Webb 81 (+3) 4* DE Adrian Greene 72 (+1) I liked Greene. He kind of got neglected from me because of pursueing other prospects, but I think he will be very solid for you.

I know last year it was frowned upon to run a 3-3-5 as a base defense is that still the case? I think the issue was more just don't run the same defense the whole game. If a 3-3-5 is your base D, then naturally your base D is what's on the field most often.

Ozi, I was examining your juggernaut of a team and I noticed that none of your recruits have been scouted. Do you feel it is a waste of time? I was skeptical at 1st but I have found you can really find a big swing in recruits abilities.

Tennessee has completed its class by adding a 2* JuCo Athlete who is a 77 (=7) and will probably be a QB, and wrestling away a 4* WR from 'Bama. They have enough talent, anyway.

Mizzou completes it's dream class of DB's and picks up a bonus 4 star RB. Had to outbid Auburn's bag man for my DB, but we'll take our chances on the NCAA finding it's way to Missouri. That gets Mizzou to 15. 5 more spots left. Not sure if I want to fill them. Not sure how bad a 6-6 record wil kill next years recruiting, but I am out of elite level talent wanting to come to Columbia.....well at least that they know yet. Couple of big name guys may be swayed in week 14 when I bring out the hotties and $500 hand shakes for the big showdown with A&M.
4* CB Sam Montgomery #13 CB--#174 Overall 74(+1) 94% Scouted Rainsville, Al 4* HB Nathan Crowder #11 HB--#124 Overall 74(+2) 95% Scouted Davis, Ca

One commit for week 12, was hoping for more this week with 8 visitors in week 11. I currently have 5 soft verbals though.
Two somewhat high rated quarterbacks that I went after and that were interested in Maryland turned out to be busts. QB is a huge need for me. I got a little lucky and found one a few weeks ago and is a soft commit currently.
3* DT Fred McBride #431(#28 DT)-- 67(+1) OVR -- 100% scouted
9 commits (9/21 spots filled).

3 commits for me this week
4* QB Callahan (68) -2 - this guy was pretty much a dud but I need QB depth and for being the #5 QB in the country he is coming in at a crappy rating
4* TE Edmonds (73) +1
3* DT Davis (66) - such a waste of space but I got plenty of schollies left so I figured I would add him for depth

One commitment mid-week 12.
3* Steve Newton #747 (#18 FS) -- 66(-1)-- 100% scouted.
10 commits total (10/21 spots filled). Very large class needed for depth. I plan to fill all the spots.

Huge week for UCLA on the recruiting trail. Two **** commitments in jumbo TE Tony Perry (6'8 247lbs 79 overall GEM) out of Mississippi as well as the 3rd best tackle in the country Lewis Cook (6'5 281 lbs 78 overall) out of California. Dominoes are starting to fall.

Camkp, I see you're trying to sneak into the recruitment of ATH Cole Nichols. Stay away. He's mine, especially after a 1,000-plus point phone call on top of his official visit this week.
